libpapi-dev software package provides PAPI development files (headers and API documentation), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libpapi-dev
libpapi-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libpapi-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libpapi-dev *
You will get with libpapi-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
